Job Description
The Plant Manager acts as a single point of contact on all matters that concern the operation of the Franklin, Louisiana, manufacturing facility. The incumbent is responsible for day-to-day activities, including production, maintenance, safety, quality, shipping, labor relations, and accounting. He or she also ensures the plant is aligned with the business plan and strategic direction of the company in the short to mid-term.
Essential Duties:
Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements that pertain to safety, financial reporting, environmental protection, and other matters. Ensure that production targets are met in a safe and cost-effective manner. Ensure that plant and process equipment is well-maintained; drive improvements in reliability and support preventative maintenance activities. Provide direction to the functional leaders and other subordinates at the plant, including delegating authority and responsibility, assigning work, managing performance, providing training and development opportunities. Develop a budget for the plant and ensure conformity with the spending plan, both for operational and capital expenses. Manage the supply chain of all in and out-bound shipments, including final products, raw materials, and other items required in the production process. Drive continuous improvement with respect to KPIs; stay informed of changes in technology, evaluate new products and processes for their potential applicability to plant operations. Build and maintain positive and productive working relationships with regulatory agency personnel, local officials, and community interest groups.Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required for this position. A degree in engineering, chemical or mechanical, is strongly preferred. An advanced degree is a plus. This position requires at least ten years of experience in chemical manufacturing or refining. This experience may have been gained in positions such as process engineer, production engineer, maintenance manager, operations supervisor, or a similar role. At least five years of experience supervising professional, technical, and hourly employees in a manufacturing environment are necessary. The ability to build productive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the organization is essential. The ability to communicate effectively with coworkers at all levels of the organization, from the manufacturing floor to the C Suite is crucial. Experience dealing with a labor union and administering a collective bargaining agreement is an advantage. Experience managing capital projects is a plus.EOE AA M/F/VET/Disability:
