Strong understanding of power plant safety, regulatory compliance, outage planning, and asset reliability.
Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of a utility-scale power generation facility in Louisiana. This position is responsible for plant operations, maintenance, safety, environmental compliance, budgeting, personnel leadership, and overall site performance, while also providing periodic support to an affiliated peaking facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Provide leadership and direction for all plant operations and maintenance activities while promoting a strong culture of safety, reliability, and environmental compliance. Manage plant personnel, contractors, budgets, forecasting, staffing, training, and employee development initiatives. Support maintenance planning, outage execution, reliability improvement efforts, and overall plant performance objectives. Serve as the primary point of contact for plant stakeholders, customers, and corporate leadership. Provide periodic operational and management support to the Bayou Cove peaking facility, including phone support and approximately one onsite visit per month.
Job Requirements :
Strong knowledge of power plant operations, maintenance programs, safety procedures, regulatory compliance requirements, and industry best practices. Experience leading operations and maintenance personnel, managing contractors, and supporting plant budgets and operational planning. Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to effectively interact with plant personnel, contractors, customers, regulatory agencies, and corporate leadership. Education /
Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related technical discipline preferred. 10+ years of power generation experience. Prior experience as a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, O&M Manager, Maintenance Manager, Assistant Plant Manager, or similar plant leadership role. Experience within utility, merchant generation, cooperative utility, or independent power producer (IPP) environments preferred, including steam, gas-fired, peaking, or combined cycle generation facilities.
