Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations with energy and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of plant performance, ensuring production efficiency, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize supply chain processes, and foster a culture of operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional passionate about manufacturing and operational management to make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment. The primary focus of this position is to manage all aspects of plant operations. Including but not limited to personnel, productivity, safety compliance, production planning, engineering, equipment operation and departmental communication. Additional focus to include plant improvements, cost reduction and administrative compliance. Responsibilities Manage Plant Manger's scope of responsibilities Work with HR Department to determine hiring, training, and employee improvement needs. Provide training and follow-up on department personnel to see that they are performing their jobs in accordance with their job descriptions. Provide daily/weekly coaching to improve supervisor effectiveness. See that production standards are established wherever practical, for each job in the plant. Measure performance against these standards on a daily basis. Keep professionally abreast of the industry by periodic visits to other plants, industry meetings and other pertinent exposure. Assume the responsibility for the Production Supervisors in their absence. Manage production environment within budgetary parameters Manage and execute product inventory and orders within budgetary parameters Provide production reporting to all company executives as needed Execute and administer monthly Safety Committee meetings Execute weekly team production meetings Execute daily production supervisor staff meetings Manage and assure plant is operating within OSHA guidelines & standards Maintain communication channels between all departments Conduct daily product audits to assure quality standards are met Manage associates as needed within the scope of progressive disciplinary guidelines Manage and assure production schedule is followed Assure preventive schedule is adhered to Manage associated to perform scope of responsibilities in an efficient manner Confer with the sales, service, and office staff concerning production schedules, quality and customer concerns. Take corrective action as a result of customer surveys as necessary. Keep professionally abreast of the industry by periodic visits to other plants, industry meetings and other pertinent exposure. Notify and work with Chief Engineer on needed repairs on all equipment in production and soil sort while maintaining written request and follow up for equipment repairs. See that production standards are established wherever practical, for each job in the plant. Measure performance against these standards on a daily basis. Skills Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of ERP systems or similar platforms for production planning and supply chain management. Expertise in lean manufacturing methodologies and process improvement techniques. Solid understanding of supply chain analytics and operations management principles. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose equipment issues quickly. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive operational excellence. Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments and with external partners. Familiarity with quality control procedures and safety regulations relevant to manufacturing plants. College degree or high school diploma with prior Plant Manager experience 5 years experience in plant management Trade and/or technical training school Preferred production plant management experience Flexible schedule Computer literate Knowledge of financial systems
