Plant Manager - Precision Manufacturing Bridgewater / Brockton, MA Area A global engineering and manufacturing organization serving the packaging, paper, textile, and plastics industries is seeking a Plant Manager to lead a critical plant transformation at a 50-70 employee machining facility in the Bridgewater/Brockton area. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a hands-on operational leader who thrives on the production floor, builds strong teams, and drives measurable improvement in culture, accountability, and plant performance. This facility operates in a high-mix, low-volume CNC job shop environment , producing custom-engineered products with demanding delivery and quality expectations. The ideal candidate will be a transformational leader who can strengthen an already capable team, improve execution, and elevate operations toward world-class standards. Key Responsibilities Lead all day-to-day plant operations with direct accountability for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and financial performance Drive a plant turnaround focused on culture improvement, accountability, and operational discipline Spend significant time on the production floor coaching supervisors, machinists, and shop personnel Improve on-time delivery, backlog reduction, throughput, and overall equipment utilization Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies Partner with quality teams to address recurring issues through root cause analysis and corrective action Manage shop capacity, labor planning, and workflow to prevent bottlenecks and improve responsiveness Develop employees through coaching, feedback, training, and performance management Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, purchasing, finance, and HR to align plant priorities Build and track KPIs tied to operational and financial performance Qualifications 10+ years of leadership experience in a CNC machining or job shop manufacturing environment Strong background leading custom manufacturing operations with multiple product lines or short-run production Proven ability to lead change, improve culture, and develop manufacturing teams Hands-on leadership style with strong floor presence Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Epicor, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar Ability to understand and act on production metrics, financial performance, and operational data Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience preferred Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will be considered Ideal Candidate Profile Transformational leader who leads by example Strong coach who develops employees and builds accountability Comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced machining environment Driven to improve performance while maintaining strong employee engagement What's Offered Competitive compensation package Medical, dental, and vision coverage Company-paid life and disability insurance 401(k) with company match Paid holidays, vacation, and sick time Long-term growth opportunity within a global manufacturing organization This is an outstanding opportunity for a plant leader who enjoys building strong teams, solving operational challenges, and creating lasting impact in a precision manufacturing environment.
