Job Description
Production Manager
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and lead production crews in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentUtilize World Class Manufacturing principles to drive performance and operational resultsPlan and manage daily production operations from meat preparation through packing, including trimming, injecting, brine mixing, packing, and recordkeepingEnsure alignment and prioritization between production and support teamsEnforce compliance with all company policies, HACCP, GMPs, safety, and quality standardsComplete administrative duties related to production and quality performanceLead continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis toolsCoach, train, and develop team members to meet performance, quality, cost, and service goalsProvide timely feedback, coaching, and counseling to employeesMaintain a strong floor presence and promote positive employee relations through open communication and engagementFoster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvementMaintain a hands-on management approach on the production floorQualifications and RequirementsBachelors degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, Management, or related field preferred3 or more years of experience in a meat or further processing environment2 or more years of direct supervisory experience in manufacturingStrong understanding of food manufacturing regulations, including HACCP and GMPsExperience with plant safety programsProven ability to define performance expectations and hold teams accountableStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building abilitiesComfortable giving and receiving candid, constructive feedbackProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookDemonstrated traits include proactive mindset, adaptability to change, courage, and willingness to take calculated risks
Food ManufacturingSalary:
$90,000- $110,000 per year/ DOELocation and ScheduleMonday
- Friday, 6:00 AM
- 4:00 PM until production is completeOccasional weekend work as neededAbility to rotate between two Baltimore-area locations when requiredPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations in a food production environment.
