About the Company Established family-owned manufacturing company. Our company employs approximately 50 associates and has operated continuously for nearly 80 years. We offer a stable work environment with very low employee turn over. This position works closely with the Plant Manager, Purchasing, and shipping to support the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing company. Position Summary The Paint Production Manager leads the day-to-day operation of our paint and coating manufacturing line — batch mixing, filtration, transfer, filling, packaging, and on-time shipment. This is a working manager role: you set the production schedule, supervise mixers and packaging technicians, hold the line to batch formulas and fill-weight specifications, and partner directly with purchasing, shipping, R&D / formulation, and customers to keep quality and output on plan. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience running a paint or coating production line, knows industrial mixing and filling equipment cold, and can translate customer specifications into a clean, repeatable, audit-ready process. Minimum 5 years of direct paint and coating manufacturing experience is required. Responsibilities Production leadership Plan, schedule, and direct daily production — batch mixing, filtration, transfer, fill, cap, label, and palletize — to meet shipment commitments Quality and specifications Enforce strict adherence to batch formulas, fill-weight specifications, viscosity, color match, and labeling standards Approve in-process and finished-product QC checks (viscosity, density, color, fineness of grind, fill weight) before release Investigate out-of-spec batches, document root cause, and implement corrective actions Maintain SDS, technical data sheets, and product specification documents; ensure the correct revision is in use on the floor Support NSF/ANSI 61, AIS
/ BABA, and customer-specific certification requirements as applicable Supervise, train, and develop production technicians, mixers, and packaging operators; set daily targets and review performance Approve batch tickets, formula adjustments, and rework decisions in coordination with R&D / formulation Track and report production KPIs:
batches per shift, first-pass yield, on-time completion, scrap, rework, and labor hours per batch Quality and specifications Enforce strict adherence to batch formulas, fill-weight specifications, viscosity, color match, and labeling standards Approve in-process and finished-product QC checks (viscosity, density, color, fineness of grind, fill weight) before release Investigate out-of-spec batches, document root cause, and implement corrective actions Maintain SDS, technical data sheets, and product specification documents; ensure the correct revision is in use on the floor Support NSF/ANSI 61, AIS
/ BABA, and customer-specific certification requirements as applicable Materials, equipment, and facility Coordinate with purchasing on raw material ordering, inventory levels, and supplier issues (pigments, resins, solvents, additives, asphaltic feedstocks, packaging) Own preventive maintenance scheduling for mixers, dispersers, mills, pumps, filters, fillers, scales, and forklifts; coordinate repairs with maintenance Manage raw material receiving, batch staging, and finished-goods staging for shipping Safety, compliance, and housekeeping Lead daily safety practices: PPE, hot work, lockout/tagout, hazardous material handling, spill response, ventilation, and confined-space awareness Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state environmental requirements for solvent and water-based coating manufacturing Hold the production area to a clean, organized, audit-ready standard at all times Cross-functional collaboration Partner with shipping to sequence finished goods and meet customer delivery dates Work directly with customers and outside applicators on technical questions, batch approvals, and special-order requirements Support R&D / formulation on scale-up of new products from lab to production Pay:
