Job Description

Job Overview Growing $10M+ precision manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Controller / Business Operations Manager to lead financial operations and help build a true job-costing and management reporting system. This is a high-impact role working directly with ownership and our external CPA firm. The right candidate will help transform how we understand job profitability, cash flow, and operational performance as the company continues to grow. We currently operate in a mix of repeat and custom manufacturing work, with increasing job sizes (up to $250K+). This role will be critical in improving visibility into job performance, margin control, and working capital management. Responsibilities Develop and implement job costing and margin tracking by project/job Build accurate reporting of labor, material, overhead, and outside processing by job Improve use of JobBOSS for operational and financial reporting Establish monthly financial and operational reporting package for ownership Analyze job profitability (quoted vs actual performance) Track and manage work-in-progress (WIP) and inventory valuation Support cash flow forecasting and working capital planning Implement and manage customer deposit and progress billing structure Partner with CPA firm for tax, financial reporting, and compliance Identify opportunities to improve margins, pricing, and efficiency Skills Required Experience 5+ years in manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, or controller-level role Strong understanding of job costing in a manufacturing or job shop environment Experience with ERP systems (JobBOSS experience strongly preferred) Ability to analyze labor, material, and overhead costs by job Experience working directly with ownership or senior leadership Strong Excel and financial analysis skills Preferred Experience Controller or Accounting Manager experience in $10M-$50M manufacturing company Experience in CNC machining, fabrication, automation, or custom manufacturing Exposure to WIP accounting and project-based accounting Experience improving or implementing costing systems
Pay:
$115,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
