Troy, MI Compensation:
$100,000 - $140,000 base (depending on experience) This company is a leader in the manufacturing of custom electromechanical systems and a premier provider of C5ISR Integration Kits. Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Plant Manager to lead daily operations within our defense-focused manufacturing environment. This individual will oversee production execution, workflow prioritization, team leadership, and plant efficiency while maintaining the highest quality and compliance standards. This role is ideal for a working leader with experience in cable and harness manufacturing or electromechanical assembly who thrives on the production floor and leads by example. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily plant operations to ensure projects are scheduled, started, and completed on time Prioritize production workflow to meet customer delivery requirements Monitor plant efficiency, throughput, and key performance metrics Maintain organized inventory and material flow Lead cable, wire harness, and electromechanical assembly operations Ensure adherence to quality standards, including
IPC/WHMA-A-620
(preferred) Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams Support hiring, training, and development of production staff Maintain a safe, compliant, and well-organized manufacturing environment Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency Qualifications 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience Background in cable assembly, wire harness, electromechanical systems, or EMS strongly preferred Working knowledge of
IPC/WHMA-A-620
standards preferred Experience in defense, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing environments is a plus Strong understanding of production scheduling and workflow management Experience monitoring KPIs such as efficiency, scrap, and on-time delivery Hands-on leadership style with strong communication skills Ability to lead and motivate small-to-mid sized teams
