Job Description

General Manager - Contract Furniture Manufacturing Contract furniture manufacturer that's looking for a General Manager to take charge of day-to-day operations in the Midwest and help lead the company into its next stage of growth. They do everything from small custom projects to large-scale production, including conference tables, lecterns, credenzas, cabinetry, store fixtures, and more. Materials range from laminates and veneers to hardwoods, solid surfaces, quartz, glass, and metal — and their finishing capabilities setting them apart from competitors offering the best all around value in the woodworking industry as an OEM source of supply. Compensation D.O.E. This role is a mix of strategy and hands-on leadership. The company needs someone who can keep operations running smoothly while also driving growth and process improvements.
Responsibilities:
Oversee production schedules, quality control, and on-time project delivery Lead and develop the team, making sure the culture stays strong and performance stays high Partner with sales and design to keep customers happy and projects on track Keep a close eye on financials — budgets, KPIs, P&L — and make adjustments when needed Look for ways to improve processes, efficiency, and overall operations Represent the company with customers, vendors, and at industry events Drive long-term strategy and growth while still being involved in the day-to-day What we're looking for: Strong leadership experience in contract furniture, woodworking, or millwork manufacturing A balance of big-picture strategic thinking and hands-on operational know-how Solid financial and business management skills Someone who knows custom manufacturing processes and how to deliver on client expectations A proven track record of building teams and improving operations This is a great opportunity to run an established manufacturer that has been around for many years and has a strong reputation for quality, customization, and long-term customer partnerships.
