Medical Device and Healthcare Technology•About the Role We are partnering with a leading medical device organization based in the Plymouth, MN area to identify a highly skilled Manufacturing Operations Manager. This individual will play a critical leadership role in overseeing the full lifecycle of regulated medical device production—from design transfer through final distribution. Operating within a fast-paced, quality-driven environment, this position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to lead a high-impact function within a highly regulated industry focused on delivering innovative healthcare solutions that improve patient outcomes. Job Description The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for leading core manufacturing functions, including Production, Warehouse/Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, and Process Development. This role drives operational performance by establishing clear priorities, optimizing processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide overall leadership across materials handling, warehouse, distribution, production, manufacturing engineering, and process development Establish and manage goals, KPIs, and metrics to ensure alignment with business objectives and value stream execution Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, EU MDR, and other applicable quality standards Deliver on weekly manufacturing output targets at the SKU level while maintaining supply chain continuity and mitigating operational risks Utilize structured project management tools (e.g., A3s, Gantt charts) to track performance, communicate progress, and reinforce accountability Collaborate cross-functionally with R D, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain to deliver products on time, within budget, and to required specifications Support new product development through process design, validation, and continuous engineering improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs Optimize manufacturing processes and design transfers to ensure high-quality output and cost-effective production Partner with Quality teams to implement defect prevention strategies and permanent corrective actions Champion Lean manufacturing principles, including waste reduction, labor efficiency, 5S, and visual management practices Lead safety initiatives, including Safety Committee engagement and Gemba walks, to maintain a safe working environment Promote a collaborative, inclusive culture that encourages employee engagement, cross-functional teamwork, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen) Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety, quality, and production standards Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 7+ years of progressive experience in medical device manufacturing operations 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience Strong knowledge of design controls, risk analysis, process validation, and regulatory submission requirements Experience working within GMP and
ISO 13485
