Full Job Description Job Objective:
To lead an efficient and productive team resulting in a quality product while overseeing operations within Mom's Design Build and maintaining communication with personnel to build beautiful things profitably. Accountability:
Reporting to the Chief Operation Officer, the Production Manager is accountable for the planning, coordination, and administration of construction and maintenance activities. This individual will direct, coordinate, maintain, and control the overall operation of construction and maintenance while working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. He/She must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal communication skills, and exercise sound judgment and initiative. Essential Job Functions:
Manage members of Production Staff:
Crew Leads, Crew Members, etc Organize and oversee the schedule of production staff and equipment Organize job installation on time and on budget Facilitate and ensure development and implementation of organizational and team goals Work closely with Designers to review plans for implementation Maintain high client satisfaction by delivering completed projects on time, budget, and with commitment to excellence Provide conflict resolution support to team members Recruit, hire, train, develop, evaluate, and terminate team members Establish screening criteria and procedures to be used when recruiting and selecting team members Implement employee training programs to ensure company policies and procedures are followed Conduct performance evaluations alongside the Founder & Chief Operating Officer Provide technical assistance at job-site Complete reports and analyses of departmental operations as requested by Chief Operating Officer Advise and refine contract drafting and job pricing through job costing Run Mom's Winter Snow Operations including selling, dispatch, and managing all aspects of snow removal Implement, revise, and coordinate company safety program Order and coordinate materials for installation jobs Facilitate project management with foreman, designers, and subcontractors Work closely with the shop manager to make sure equipment is ready and DOT on time Complete work orders as needed Fill in for Crew Lead when needed—sick time, vacation, open position Train Crew Lead to company standards Work with vendors to acquire best prices possible Manage inventory of job materials Manage trade shows for schedule and materials Create, implement, and coordinate job costing procedure Projects as deemed appropriate Skills Required:
At least 5 years landscape experience along with some supervisory experience Demonstrated working knowledge of landscape industry, landscape design, construction techniques Knowledge of tools and equipment Knowledge of budget preparation and control Obtain a Class A Drivers License within 30 days of hire Organized and detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions Ability to lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height. Remain either in a standing or sitting position for extended periods of time Travel over rough, uneven or rocky surfaces Maintain and display a positive attitude Maintain a proactive approach to customer service Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools Examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures Employee development skills Demonstrated oral and written communications skills Experience in working with computer applications Knowledge Of:
Advanced knowledge of plant material, hardscapes, ancillary landscape produces, equipment, and tools Materials, methods, and skills used in various landscaping common to the Midwest region. Logistics management (making sure "things" are where they need to be, getting there appropriately) Ability to develop and implement creative revenue-generating plans, programs, and initiatives Customer Service principles Human Resources practices Staff hiring procedures Financial knowledge Safety practices and procedures Develop and maintain work schedules Pay:
