OFFEREDPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations at our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient, high-quality production that meets customer demand and cost targets. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong problem-solving skills, and a track record of implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage production operations to meet safety, quality, volume and on-time delivery targets.
Coach, develop and direct production supervisors and hourly staff; build a high-performance team and strong safety culture.
Plan and manage production schedules, capacity planning and resource allocation to optimize throughput and minimize downtime.
Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement projects (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, TPM).Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including yield, OEE, scrap, cycle time and labor productivity; take corrective actions to meet performance goals.
Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain and Procurement to resolve production issues and drive product/process improvements.
Manage production budgets, cost control initiatives and inventory levels while identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve profitability.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements and promote a culture of workplace safety.
Oversee root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for product nonconformances and production disruptions.
Support implementation and use of ERP/MRP systems for scheduling, materials tracking and production reporting.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or related field, or equivalent experience.5+ years of progressive manufacturing experience with at least 2-3 years in a production leadership role; experience in industrial/manufacturing environments preferred.
Proven experience implementing Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies; certifications such as Lean, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) are a plus.
Strong knowledge of production planning, capacity management, quality systems (e.g., ISO, TS) and safety standards.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing frontline supervisors and union/non-union hourly workforces.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing metrics reporting; familiarity with PLCs and basic process control is beneficial.
Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive change.
