Overview We are seeking an energetic and strategic Fabrication Shop General Manager to lead our fabrication operations. This vital role involves overseeing all aspects of the fabrication shop, driving continuous improvement, ensuring quality standards, and managing production efficiency. The ideal candidate will be passionate about manufacturing excellence and possess strong leadership skills to foster a culture of safety, innovation, and operational excellence. Duties Lead and manage daily fabrication shop operations, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Implement lean manufacturing principles and process improvements to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. Oversee supply chain management and logistics coordination using ERP systems such as SAP to ensure timely procurement of materials and efficient inventory control. Monitor quality control processes to maintain high standards in fabrication output, adhering to safety regulations and industry standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing manufacturing data, supply chain analytics, and implementing best practices in process optimization. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to streamline assembly processes and improve overall plant performance. Manage personnel development, including training staff on mechanical knowledge, manufacturing techniques, and safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP), MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and supply chain management tools. Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing methodologies, process improvement, and operations management. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand fabrication processes, assembly techniques, and quality control standards. Excellent leadership skills with a focus on team development, safety culture promotion, and operational excellence. Ability to analyze supply chain data and implement strategies for continuous process enhancement. Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing technology or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
