Job Description
Director of QualityPosition Overview We are seeking an experienced Director of Quality to lead and advance our quality organization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Director will develop and maintain a robust quality management system, ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, drive continuous improvement, and partner with manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and leadership to deliver high-quality products on schedule. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on problem solving to sustain product integrity, improve process capability, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and implement the company quality strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives and manufacturing priorities.
Lead, mentor, and grow the quality organization including quality engineers, inspectors, and system administrators.
Develop, document, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to meet internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations (e.g., AS9100, ITAR, NADCAP where applicable) and manage external and internal audits.
Oversee supplier quality management program including qualification, performance monitoring, corrective actions, and supplier development.
Direct root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities for product and process nonconformances.
Establish, monitor, and report on key quality metrics (e.g., PPM, DPMO, OTD related to quality) and use data to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
Drive process capability and reliability initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce variation, waste, and costs.
Manage metrology and inspection capability requirements, including calibration, measurement systems analysis (MSA), and laboratory controls.
Coordinate cross-functional problem solving with engineering, production, procurement, and program management to resolve quality risks and support new product introductions.
Represent the company to customers, auditors, and regulatory authorities on quality matters; lead customer quality reviews and resolve escalations.
Develop and manage quality department budget, staffing, training, and performance objectives.
Nice to have: Experience in Aerospace or Defense industries and familiarity with industry-specific requirements.
Nice to have: Hands-on knowledge of AS9100 implementation and surveillance audits.
Nice to have: Familiarity with ITAR compliance and export control considerations.
Nice to have: NADCAP experience or auditor familiarity for special processes.
Nice to have: Strong metrology background, including calibration and MSA experience.
Nice to have: Practical experience with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (Black Belt or Green Belt preferred).Certifications such as CQE, ASQ, or equivalent are a plus.

QualificationsRequired:
Proven experience in Manufacturing and Quality Management with a minimum of 10 years in progressively responsible quality roles within a manufacturing environment.Required:
Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional quality teams and programs at a senior level.Required:
Strong knowledge of quality systems, auditing, CAPA, FMEA, control plans, and measurement system analysis.Required:
Excellent problem-solving skills with experience leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.Required:
Experience working with suppliers and managing supplier quality performance.Education:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred.Nice to have: Experience in Aerospace or Defense industries and familiarity with industry-specific requirements.
