Based on experience About MG Concepts MG Concepts is a retail fixture and custom millwork manufacturer serving national and regional retailers. We produce store displays, custom cabinetry, casework, wall systems, shelving, and other specialty fixtures for retail environments. Our work is highly specialized. Projects move through design review, engineering, purchasing, production, finishing, shipping, and installation coordination. Because of that, we are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, communicative, and interested in learning our process from the ground up. Position Summary MG Concepts is seeking a Project Coordinator / Assistant Project Manager to support our project management team in coordinating custom retail fixture and millwork projects. This is a growth-oriented role for someone who may not yet have deep millwork or manufacturing experience but has the right organizational skills, communication ability, follow-through, and willingness to learn. The right candidate will work closely with experienced project managers, engineers, production staff, purchasing, logistics, and company leadership. Over time, this person will learn how custom retail fixture projects move from client request through engineering, production, delivery, and installation. Responsibilities Assist project managers with day-to-day project coordination. Track open items, deadlines, schedules, and project milestones. Help organize RFQs, purchase orders, release orders, drawings, approvals, and project documentation. Update project tracking systems and internal schedules. Communicate with internal departments regarding project status, missing information, and upcoming deadlines. Assist with client and vendor follow-up under the direction of senior team members. Help coordinate sample shipments, finish approvals, site information, freight details, and installation-related information. Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for basic information and completeness. Prepare meeting notes, action-item lists, and project status updates. Support change-order documentation and scope tracking. Learn the basics of custom millwork, retail fixtures, materials, production processes, and field coordination. Requirements Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow up consistently and keep projects moving. Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and general computer systems. Ability to manage multiple open tasks at the same time. Willingness to learn technical information related to drawings, materials, fabrication, and retail construction. Ability to read architectural drawings or shop drawings. Experience with Monday.com, ERP systems, or other project tracking tools. Exposure to custom manufacturing, cabinetry, woodworking, metal fabrication, acrylic fabrication, or store fixture programs. What We Offer Full-time, permanent position with room for growth. Training in a specialized manufacturing and project-management environment. Health insurance and HSA options. 401(k) with company match. Paid time off and holidays. Opportunity to learn a niche industry with long-term career potential. A collaborative, hands-on work environment where follow-through and initiative matter. About the Opportunity This is not a generic office position, and it is not a generic construction project management role. MG Concepts operates in a specialized custom manufacturing environment. We are willing to train the right person, but the role requires organization, urgency, accountability, and a genuine interest in learning how complex projects are coordinated from start to finish. Apply today to join a leader in the retail fixture and custom millwork industry.
