Job Description

Warby Parker is on the lookout for a Director of Manufacturing Strategy to lead the long-term evolution of our optical supply chain and production network. You will serve as the primary architect for our manufacturing footprint, balancing financial discipline with the operational excellence required to scale our capacity.
What You'll Do :
Build and manage comprehensive business plans and budgets that align long-term growth forecasts with network capacity and capital investment Oversee the end-to-end strategy for manufacturing real estate, including site selection, lease vs. buy analysis, and government incentive negotiations Design sophisticated labor and machinery capacity models to ensure the network is equipped to handle shifting demand and peak seasons Direct the strategic expansion of lab services and lens stocking levels while managing relationships with key machinery vendors and third-party consultants Lead cross-functional initiatives for delivery timeline optimization to improve customer experience and cost Drive large-scale continuous improvement initiatives across the network to enhance throughput and operational efficiency Develop and execute a multi-year CapEx roadmap, ensuring all infrastructure and technology investments deliver high ROI and support business scaling
Who You Are :
Backed by 10+ years of professional experience in manufacturing strategy and network capacity planning A strategic leader capable of translating complex sales forecasts into actionable operational roadmaps and infrastructure investments A disciplined project manager with a track record of delivering large-scale industrial or manufacturing expansions on time and under budget An expert communicator who can influence executive stakeholders and negotiate effectively with external partners and government agencies A data-driven problem solver who utilizes financial modeling and operational KPIs to drive continuous improvement across the supply chain Comfortable working on ambiguous and open-ended problems to create structured multi-year roadmaps Well-versed in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
Extra Credit:
Experience with advanced continuous improvement methods such as DMAIC and Lean Six Sigma Advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or an MBA Specialized experience in optical manufacturing or high-precision lab operations including the surfacing process
