This is a true "end-to-end" role—you will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle from initial costing and development through to final delivery. Costco operates on massive volume, tight margins, and strict compliance standards; this role requires someone who thrives on precision, scale, and cross-functional leadership. The ideal candidate understands how to maintain high-quality design aesthetics while optimizing factory capacity, managing strict costing models, and navigating complex logistics to meet Costco's rigorous vendor requirements.
Key Responsibilities Production & Timeline Management:
Establish & Drive Timelines:
Set clear calendar expectations and ensure 100% on-time execution according to the critical path development calendar to meet strict Costco drop windows.
Troubleshooting & Technical Leadership:
Lead cross-functional teams in identifying and resolving quality, garment construction, and technical manufacturing issues before mass production.
Design Optimization:
Drive enhancements and modifications to designs and materials (including derivative and high-volume value products) to maintain aesthetic standards while hitting aggressive cost-per-unit targets.

Lead and track all global shipment departures and arrivals, closely managing overseas factory operations to minimize delays.
Sourcing, Costing & Factory Negotiation:
End-to-End Costing Mastery:
Must have extensive hands-on costing experience. Define, analyze, and oversee rigorous costing models to protect margins on low-margin, high-volume programs.
Factory Negotiations:
Partner with vendors and factories to negotiate material commitments, mitigate tariff impacts, and drive price cuts/reductions to achieve financial goals.
High-Volume Capacity Planning:
Manage vendor performance and allocate production space by sourcing office, region, and country to handle massive club-level order volumes.
Supply Chain & Packaging Flow:
Partner with Sales, Merchandising, Operations, and factories to ensure a flawless flow of goods. Oversee compliance regarding Costco-specific packaging, folding, palletizing, and labeling requirements.
Market Research & Compliance Reporting:
Market & Innovation Tracking:
Continuously evaluate the marketplace for innovations in manufacturing, fabrication, and cost-effective construction; regularly share insights with Sales and Design.
Operational Reporting:
Create and maintain comprehensive production status reports, testing logs, and a master archive of materials, trims, and fabrics.
Relationship Management:
Retailer & Factory Communication:
Manage daily communications, feedback loops, and QA results between Costco buying teams, internal partners, and overseas vendors.
Line Adoption:
Play an active role in the line adoption process alongside internal Sales, Design, and the retail partner teams.

Costco Compliance Knowledge:
Prior familiarity with Costco vendor compliance, testing standards, performance metrics, and packaging/folding regulations is a major asset.
Technical Apparel Expertise:
Deep knowledge of garment manufacturing, including construction, fabrication, yield optimization, trim, and print techniques.
