POSITION SUMMARY
The Value Stream Manager is responsible for end-to-end ownership of a defined product line, with full accountability for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). Reporting to the Cleveland Plant Manager, this role leads the value stream across assembly, test operations, materials, and supporting functions to ensure alignment of people, processes, and systems in delivering operational excellence. This position requires a shift from tactical execution to strategic, systems-level leadership. The Value Stream Manager is accountable not only for output, but also for improving flow, reducing lead time, managing constraints; particularly within test operations and aligning cross-functional teams to achieve shared performance goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Value Stream Ownership (SQDC) Own and drive performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost for the full product line Establish, track, and improve key performance metrics; implement countermeasures to close gaps Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across the value stream Operational Leadership Lead daily operations across assembly, testing, and materials to meet customer demand Ensure production schedules are met whilemaintaininghigh standardsof safety and quality Oversee staffing, capacity planning, and resource allocation tooptimizethroughput Flow & Continuous Improvement Drive Lean initiatives toeliminatewaste and improve end-to-end flow Reduce overall lead time from order to shipment Identify, escalate, and resolve constraints, with a strong focus on test operations bottlenecks Lead Kaizen events and structured problem-solving efforts Cross-Functional Alignment Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and improve processes Align cross-functional teams to shared SQDC goals and metrics Influence without direct authority to drive execution and accountability Strategic & Systems Thinking Shift from reactive problem-solving to proactive system optimization Develop and execute strategies to improve long-term performance, scalability, and efficiency Leverage data and analytics to drive decisions and prioritize improvements People Leadership Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline employees within the value stream Build a high-performing, engaged team focused on results and continuous improvement Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback and development support Performance Expectations & Development Focus Success in this role requires both consistent delivery of results and continued growth in leadership capability. Based on recent observations, there may be specific areas requiring improvement. The Value Stream Manager will partner closely with the Cleveland Plant Manager to address these through clear expectations, regular feedback, and focused development actions, ensuring alignment with operational goals and long-term business success.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Manufacturing Leadership Experience Demonstrated ownership of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) metrics Hands-on experience leading production operations, including assembly and/or test environments. Proven experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles to improve flow, reduce waste, and shorten lead times Experienceidentifyingand managing operational constraints (bottleneck management) Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions and improvements Experience leading, coaching, and developing frontline leaders and teams
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment Strategic and systems thinking Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision-making Cross-functional leadership and influence Results orientation with a continuous improvement mindset Effective communication and leadership presence Change management and adaptability
Work Environment:
This position is primarily on-site and is performed in a combination of office and manufacturing environments, with frequent presence on the shop floor. The role requires regular cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety, Human Resources and Leadership teams. The manufacturing environment may involve exposure to varying noise levels, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of a production facility. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas. While performing the essential functions of this role, the employee may be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, and use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems. The position may requires lifting and movement consistent with job responsibilities. The role includes occasional presentation and communication responsibilities to executive leadership, including participation in quarterly business reviews. The employee must be able to communicate effectively and observe conditions necessary to perform essential job functions. Salary Range:
$85,000-$130,000
