Plant Manager, Manufacturing Operations Leader -Greater Dayton Area, OH- 100 to 115K/yr +25% Annual Bonus The Plant Manager holds accountability for the comprehensive management of multi-department manufacturing operations. This senior position is charged with maximizing production, controlling quality, upholding stringent safety protocols, and optimizing the utilization of materials and assets. Collaboration with facility and operational executive teams is essential to drive peak plant performance, ensure timely, high-quality product fulfillment for Construction operations, and embed a culture of continuous improvement. This role involves the development and mentorship of supervisors and hourly staff, alongside active participation in key Manufacturing and site-specific projects. The position is based at the Dayton, OH facility . Key Accountabilities A. Production Management and Throughput Oversee all scheduling and production demands across factory departments, ensuring operational continuity and smooth transition between day and night shifts. Coordinate strategic planning with Materials, Scheduling, and Logistics departments to generate precise production forecasts and secure a reliable material supply chain into the production zones. Strategically allocate resources, including labor and raw materials, to consistently meet operational benchmarks and guarantee prompt delivery of products to Construction operations. Manage the area's plant budgets and proactively seek and implement viable cost reduction opportunities. Function as the point of escalation for complex issues originating from internal groups, vendors, or Construction operations, ensuring thorough documentation and timely resolution. B. Quality Assurance and Operational Excellence Direct the execution of quality assurance protocols and implement built-in quality controls to ensure compliance with facility objectives. Develop new quality standards and procedures, and participate in external reviews, such as Construction audits and Customer Liaison programs, when necessary. Ensure synergistic coordination and cross-functional training across different production segments (value streams). Align activities with leaders in corporate and other functional areas to achieve collective organizational objectives. Monitor and critically evaluate facility performance using key indicators like plant efficiencies. Interpret metric data to drive targeted improvements and submit data-supported recommendations to site leadership. Identify and propose enhancements to manufacturing techniques, machinery use, operating guidelines, quality benchmarks, efficiency, and workplace conditions. Lead or contribute to specific prototyping and continuous improvement initiatives for the plant and greater Manufacturing division. C. Safety and Maintenance Oversight Lead safety culture through training and regular audits of employee practices and work conditions. Promptly address safety concerns, manage investigations into workplace incidents, and conduct cross-department safety reviews. Coordinate equipment utilization with the Maintenance department and capital planning to ensure maximum uptime, minimize disruptions, and enforce consistent preventative maintenance. D. Team Development and Engagement Cultivate a highly engaged workforce and implement strategies to boost employee retention. Foster strong professional relationships with all team members, ensuring that hourly personnel receive consistent performance feedback, training, and coaching. Build and maintain a high-performing team via robust hiring, orientation, coaching, and development programs. Assess staffing and skill development needs for the department, providing informed recommendations on personnel decisions to manufacturing management.
Candidate Profile Education:
Bachelor's degree is mandatory; an MBA is advantageous.Experience:
A minimum of five years of progressive management and leadership experience is required, with a strong preference for a background in manufacturing. Practical experience with Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies is beneficial.Core Competencies:
