Job Description

Portland, OR (St. Johns) At Dacon, we regard the Quality Manager position as a key role in our organization. We are looking for a candidate with keen eyes that can maintain a strong presence and have complete oversight into a continuous production process effectively and efficiently. You will also be required to keep thorough records as well as enforce others to maintain records to ensure compliance with
ISO 9001
practices where necessary.
Responsibilities:
As a Dacon Quality Manager, you will play an active role in the production environment, eventually leading the quality effort over our production supervisors and manufacturing personnel. You will partner with our production staff, administrative personnel and management, develop customer drawings, perform various tasks to maintain and improve the quality standard for our company, partner with our safety team to help maintain a safe and operational production facility as well as coordinate returns for raw materials and purchased products failing to meet specifications. Develop your skills to : Interact extensively with management and production staff to clarify needs, investigate and find solutions to quality issues and determine root cause analysis. Troubleshoot production methods, in order to prevent quality issues and/or their recurrence. Prioritize quality inspection based on daily shipping schedules Provide ongoing quality support and maintain records of calibration Generate and distribute certifications of conformances in a timely fashion for daily shipments. This is an extremely hands-on role. You will be responsible for a large-scale production facility. Be advised, this is primarily a production floor position, regard to personal safety during daily quality routines is very important and should be considered prior to applying for this position.
Requirements:
Forward thinking for preventative quality, professionalism Strong Mechanical and mathematical aptitude Some computer skills, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel. Willingness to learn 2D drafting in AutoCAD LT. Valid Drivers license / clean driving record Basic Spanish communication skills preferred (Not required) Willing to work flexible hours, this position may require odd hours due to daily production demands and emergency situations Salaried position.
