40.0 Responsibilities Support the Plant Manager in overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness Coordinate all plant activities, including production scheduling, workforce supervision, process improvement, and maintenance Act as a key leader in achieving operational goals and developing a culture of continuous improvement Ensure the shop is open and ready for employees to arrive; report attendance issues Assist in managing daily plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics Hold production meetings to review daily schedules Work with Shop Supervisors to meet production goals and motivate employees Help with set-ups to speed up production as needed Plan production needs ahead of schedule, including materials and headcount Coach employees on performance improvements and issue avoidance Record employee productivity and personnel issues, providing documentation to HR Collaborate with Sales and Operations to create production schedules Ensure parts are where they need to be for production Maintain quality and quantity standards according to company policies Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders; assign duties accordingly Work with Plant Manager to establish or adjust work schedules to meet demands Ensure safety procedures are followed by all team members Oversee welding tests and shop tours for candidates Provide hiring feedback and decisions in coordination with the Plant Manager Supervise and direct Maintenance team to ensure shop efficiency Requirements 5+ years of Supervisory/Management within Manufacturing Ideal candidate will come from Welding/Metal Fabrication industry Lean/Six Sigma Experience Preferred System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
