Position Summary HMS is seeking an experienced Production Manager at our newly renovated manufacturing facility in York, Pennsylvania, USA. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in executing our operations strategy, responsible for daily production output, efficiency, and quality for our final assembly teams. Our facility has undergone cultural change with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement, lean philosophy, employee involvement and accountability around achieving goals and operational metrics along with increasing employee engagement. HMS is seeking to grow in revenue and global presence; we believe our products position us in the middle of the expanding Industrial 'Internet of Things' space and the Production Manager plays a significant role in delivering on our promises to our global customer base. The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the entire production process, ensuring that products are manufactured on time and within budget. They manage production schedules, optimize efficiency, maintain quality standards, and lead teams to achieve organizational goals. In addition to achieving day-to-day operational excellence, the Production Manager will also lead our continued evolvement of a workplace culture that values the input of everyone, counts on the contributions of all to be successful and who embraces a "servant leadership" mindset. Essential Job Functions Operational Excellence & Performance Oversee the operational performance in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Continuous Improvement, Efficiency, and Cost. Lead the Final Assembly Team to ensure operations and customer delivery schedules are met. Develops a Final Assembly manufacturing organization in HMS capable of producing desired business results. Accountable for establishing, communicating, and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Final Assembly manufacturing. Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving Facilitate and lead LEAN and Continuous Improvement production systems. Implement plans to correct any problems that are identified, determine where and why the problem occurred, and oversee specific corrective action. Accountable for establishing and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement. Safety, Quality & Standards Ensure the establishment and maintenance of a strong safety culture within the plant and that a safe work environment is maintained for all employees. Ensure development and maintenance of work instructions that reflect compliance to our standards and quality. Leadership & People Development Identify, grow and develop the talent in the organization to improve leadership effectiveness. Provides coaching and mentoring to all direct reports. Establishes, monitors, and reviews individual and team performance. Provide the time, tools, and training needed for employee development. Model the behavior expected from the operations team. Collaboration & Communication Schedule and conduct department leadership team meetings on a regular basis. Facilitate and maintain an effective working relationship with other functional areas (QA, Supply Chain, Continuous Improvement, Sales, Marketing, HR, EH&S, Finance, Engineering, etc.). Although functions such as quality, human resources and safety do not directly report to the Production Manager, it is vitally important that the manager participate in developing an operations leadership team that cohesively works together for the attainment of organizational goals. Maintain effective communications within HMS with an eye toward continuous improvement and consistency. Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the public. Communicate effectively. Financial, Administrative & Professional Expectations Responsible for developing budgets and authorizing expenditures within approved department budgets including: Labor (staff count/wages), department materials/supplies, recommend and develop capital budget needs. Utilize a computer with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint. Act as a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company. Work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrate excellent time‑management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision. Minimum Requirements ~4+ or more years of progressive responsibility and leadership in business operations positions and manufacturing. Demonstrated leadership skills in attracting and developing talent and leading cross-functional teams. Experience in electronics or surface mount technology and light assembly. Proven ability to develop and implement strategies that support the business objectives In-depth knowledge of Lean or DMAIC manufacturing principles and tools Demonstrated ability to manage cost performance and drive improvement Experience in developing and utilizing metrics, both internally and externally, to drive performance Strong, broad-based business acumen and analytical skills Proven ability to improve processes / systems History of and passion for achieving results Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operating plans, including a thorough knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis and cost control practices Capability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally, including the ability to influence, develop and motivate people from diverse backgrounds Demonstrated clear oral and written communication skills to effectively interface with all levels of Company management and staff. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in fields related to or relevant to Business Administration, Operations or Supply Chain Management Supervisory Responsibilities Production Supervisors and operation support staff.
