Job DescriptionThe Manufacturing Manager (Finishing Excellence) leads daily operations of the Finish Department to ensure a safe, high-quality, and efficient production environment. This role partners closely with team leads to optimize workflow, staffing, and training across finishing processes, while driving continuous improvement and cost reduction. The manager monitors quality, productivity, and equipment performance, taking timely corrective action when standards are not met. As a people leader, this role coaches and develops associates while collaborating with plant leadership and HR to support business and workforce objectives.
Responsibilities:
Champion a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with company policies through observation, reporting, communication, and corrective action.

Lead daily and weekly production activities across finishing areas (overhead lines, sanding, and off-line operations) to meet efficiency, quality, and reporting requirements.

Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve product flow, reduce rework and warranties, and enhance overall quality and productivity.

Monitor finishing processes, materials, and equipment performance; initiate and document corrective and preventive actions as needed.

Partner with Finish Room Leadership to analyze field claims and production data, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.

Establish staffing plans, training procedures, objectives, budgets, and forecasts using historical data and projected production demands.

Coach, develop, and evaluate associates against performance goals, fostering engagement, accountability, and strong team performance.

Communicate policy changes, priorities, and operational updates to Production Team Leads to ensure alignment and clarity.

Collaborate with HR on hiring, promotions, compensation changes, and employee development matters.

Contribute as a member of plant management in policy development, technical advancement, and initiatives impacting employee morale and performance.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business Management or related field preferred5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment required; experience in cabinetry production preferred3+ years of supervisory experience requiredKnowledge of wood finishing materials a plus.
