ROLE OVERVIEW
The Plant Manager has direct responsibility for all quarry related aspects at the site including safety, environmental, operations, quality, production, sales and community relations. The Plant Manager is an operational professional who understands the value of planning and takes a disciplined approach to execution. This position works closely and collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, Safety/Environmental, Sales, and Finance. DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
(summary of components that make up the job) Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas Optimize reserves and minimize cost while ensuring high quality raw material feed for plant Maintain constant vigilance on environmental legislation for road grading and watering Adhere to established maintenance standards in cooperation with equipment department Execute plan and reach targets for production volume, quality, and cost for mining Assist with and recommend CapEx and purchasing, planning, evaluation, and implementation of capital projects Train and coach site employees and work with HR to address disciplinary issues as needed Manage drill and blast contractors Lead mine planning and related processes Adhere strictly to all safety and environmental regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
(types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily) Basic knowledge of plant operation, conveyor systems, and maintenance. Must have good mechanical, troubleshooting, and some welding ability. Need positive attitude and the ability to work well with others and follow directions. Equipment operation skills helpful. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
(minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements) 3-5 years' experience in Aggregates or Mining Previous supervisory experience High level understanding of MSHA rules and regulations Proficiency with Excel and Word Knowledge of processing methods and planning techniques Strong blasting expertise Must be able to troubleshoot and have strong analytical abilities Must be able to successfully analyze and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, and governmental regulations as they pertain to operations Ability to write reports, author business correspondence and procedure manuals Solid written and interpersonal communication skills Pass pre-employment drug screen, physical and criminal background checks. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
(preferred requirements i.e. certifications, software use, etc.) Able to handle multiple responsibilities at one time. Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and public at all times. Be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Be willing to work flexible work hours including nights and weekends when necessary. Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. VETERANS
