This position is responsible for ensuring customer orders are produced accurately, on time, and according to quality and food safety standards. The Plant Manager will lead production teams, manage inventory, coordinate scheduling, optimize labor and productivity, and ensure the facility operates efficiently while meeting company profitability goals. The ideal candidate has experience in food manufacturing, commissary operations, prepared foods production, or high-volume food service environments and possessesstrong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production & Order Fulfillment Oversee all daily commissary production activities. Ensure store orders are produced accurately, completely, and delivered on schedule. Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts and order requirements. Monitor production output to ensure efficiency, consistency, and quality. Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and operational issues. Team Leadership Lead, supervise, and develop production employees. Establish clear performance expectations and accountability standards. Train employees on company procedures, food safety standards, and operational best practices. Foster a positive, productive, and safety-focused work environment. Inventory & Purchasing Coordination Work closely with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure adequate supply levels. Monitor ingredient usage and minimize waste. Ensure proper inventory rotation and adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) practices. Review production needs to prevent shortages and overstock situations. Assist in developing systems to improve inventory accuracy and reduce food costs. Food Safety & Quality Assurance Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations. Maintain HACCP, sanitation, and food handling standards. Conduct routine quality inspections of products and processes. Maintain readiness for inspections and audits. Operational & Financial Management Monitor labor costs, productivity, and operational efficiency. Develop and implement process improvements to increase output and reduce costs. Analyze production metrics, waste reports, and operational performance. Assist in budgeting and cost-control initiatives. Ensure equipment, facilities, and production areas are properly maintained. Safety & Compliance Promote a culture of workplace safety. Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements. Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate operational records and documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Food Science, Industrial Management, or related field preferred. 2+ years of management experience in food manufacturing, commissary operations, prepared foods production, or a related industry. Strong understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP, and sanitation standards. Experience managing production schedules, labor planning, and inventory control. Proven leadership and team development experience. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and production management systems. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to work in production, refrigerated, and warehouse environments. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support production operations.
