Full-Time About Us Located in Houston, Texas, we are a growing family owned manufacturer specializing in flat rolled steel stamping and roll forming for BBQ grills. Our operation supports major retail customers and a direct to consumer base through high-quality production, in-house maintenance capabilities, and custom machine shop work used to maintain, repair, and improve production equipment. We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operation. Reporting directly to the Owner, this individual will oversee a shop floor team and be responsible for production performance, inventory accuracy, equipment reliability, safety, employee development, and overall operational excellence. This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, working along side their employees, solving problems, developing employees, and building systems that support long-term growth. This is an active on the shop floor job What You'll Lead Metal stamping and roll forming operations Inventory control and material management Maintenance and equipment reliability programs Machine shop activities supporting production equipment repairs and improvements ERP implementation and operational process improvements Hiring, training, coaching, and personnel management Safety, quality, and production performance initiatives Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Lead all daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery everyday. Monitor production schedules and coordinate labor and resources to meet customer requirements. Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce waste. Establish and maintain operational metrics and accountability throughout the plant. Inventory, Production & ERP Oversee raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory. Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting and process controls. Assist with selection, implementation, training, and continuous improvement of a new ERP system. Develop procedures that improve inventory visibility, production tracking, and operational reporting. Leadership & Personnel Directly supervise plant personnel and department leads - set these folks up for success everyday. Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop employees. Conduct performance evaluations and manage employee accountability. Possess authority to make hiring, disciplinary, and termination decisions in coordination with ownership. Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Maintenance & Equipment Reliability Oversee preventative maintenance programs for production equipment. Coordinate machine repairs and maintenance activities to minimize downtime. Work with maintenance personnel and machine shop resources to troubleshoot equipment issues. Support fabrication and machining efforts required to repair, improve, or modify production equipment. Safety & Quality Maintain compliance with all company safety policies Lead safety initiatives and training programs. Ensure products meet customer and quality requirements. Investigate quality concerns and implement corrective actions. Qualifications Required 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience. Proven ability to lead production teams and manage plant operations. Experience with inventory management, production scheduling, and workforce supervision. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and production documentation. Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Experience with flat rolled steel processing, stamping, roll forming, metal fabrication, or related manufacturing. Knowledge of machine shop operations, machining processes, and equipment The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with experience in metal fabrication, stamping, roll forming, machining, maintenance, or related industrial operations. Brings a good attitude and a team focused approach to work. This person should be comfortable moving between the office and the shop floor, leading employees, solving mechanical and operational problems, and driving accountability throughout the organization.
