Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Lean specialist to be part of a great culture where Trust, Adaptability, Accountability and Inclusiveness are our core values. The Lean Specialist role is designed to coach and guide the implementation of CFAN Lean principles as well as lead a team. This role will report to the Continuous Improvement Leader. The Lean Specialist will utilize lean principles to improve the operations and processes of a manufacturing organization. Analyzes production workflows, workspace design, and resource utilization to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or waste. Collects, documents, and interprets production data to identify areas to streamline and improve productivity. Develops metrics to measure and monitor key production processes and evaluates the impacts of lean principles against costs, quality, and delivery goals. Educates employees about lean concepts to ensure initiatives are integrated into workflows and processes. Essential Functions
  • Align with strategic objectives for the Business Unit/Functional Area/Plant and Execute Lean initiatives.
  • Provide advanced coaching on problem solving using data and analytics
  • Assist team members with root cause analysis, systematic problem solving and the implementation of sustainable countermeasures
  • Implement sustainable countermeasures using Kaizen methodology of rapid improvement and other CFAN Lean principles
  • Perform education for all team members within Value Stream/Departments/Plant wide.
  • Train teams to utilize tools and methodologies aligned to CFAN Lean principles
  • Audits/coaches the Plant as well as KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), on CFAN Lean principles
  • Ensure visibility of KPIs, trend management
  • Provide/share foundational best practices with alignment to the system
  • Improves workflow by studying process flow charts, recommending modifications in workflow and workstations, and developing new procedures
  • Propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
  • Assist in Mfg. Budget planning; generate reports; conduct Six Sigma and Lean projects
  • Conduct presentations to shift employees; coordinate shift with Safety/Mfg./Eng/Production Control initiatives
  • Track attendance, OT, and Productivity
  • Draft and communicate performance evaluations
  • Coach and counsel employees
  • Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing)
  • Systematic problem-solving skills related to manufacturing performance
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience with data analytics tools
  • At least five years of manufacturing/processing and/or Continuous Improvement experience
  • Experience with data analytics tools
  • Experience in Continuous improvement system, Lean Manufacturing or Total Productive Maintenance
  • 3 years of leadership experience.
