Job Summary:
Hole in the Roof is seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Manager to oversee day-to-day operations in our production department. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality output, team coordination, inventory control, and workplace safety within a fast-paced, creative environment. The ideal candidate will have a background in production management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to balance hands-on involvement with strategic oversight.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Team Supervision:
Manage and lead a team of press operators and production staff, including scheduling, task delegation, and daily management. •
Inventory Management:
Monitor and maintain inventory of production supplies as designated by company leadership. Ensure accurate tracking of supplies and finished goods. •
Ordering Supplies:
Proactively place and track supply orders based on inventory levels and production needs. Establish relationships with vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement. •
Conflict Resolution:
Address and mediate interpersonal disputes or workflow conflicts within the production team to maintain a respectful and productive work environment. •
Safety & Compliance:
Regularly inspect the production area to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Identify and resolve potential hazards and enforce safety protocols. •
Quality Control:
Oversee quality assurance checks on printed apparel to ensure products meet company standards before delivery to customers. •
Production Scheduling:
Coordinate with account representative and leadership teams to plan and prioritize orders according to customer deadlines and promotional campaigns. •
Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate production processes for efficiency and implement improvements as needed. •
Equipment Oversight:
Monitor the condition of press equipment and coordinate maintenance or repairs with company leadership as required. •
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of inventory, production metrics, safety inspections, and employee performance. Provide regular reports to upper management. •
Continuous Learning and Adaptability:
Learn all aspects of the production floor and perform those duties as necessary if required.
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of screen printing, heat press, embroidery, or DTG (direct-to-garment) technologies preferred Proven experience (3+ years) in production management or a similar supervisory role in manufacturing or apparel printing Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities Familiarity with inventory management systems and order processing software Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
Work Environment:
Primarily on-site in a production facility environment May involve lifting materials (up to 50 lbs), standing for extended periods, and operating machinery
