This role is responsible for overseeing production, facility infrastructure, environmental compliance, and process efficiency. The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical or electrical engineering background, along with direct experience in plating systems, chemical processes, and industrial equipment. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and day-to-day engagement on the production floor. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, and process optimization
  • Works with the Production Manager to oversee plating line operations, including bath chemistry control, process parameters, and production throughput, as well as the wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with all environmental discharge permits and reporting requirements
  • Partner with lab and quality teams to monitor chemical balance, analyze bath performance, and troubleshoot defects
  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc.)
  • Oversee facility infrastructure, including rectifiers (power supplies), pumps, ventilation systems, filtration systems, and chemical storage
  • Maintain high uptime and reliability of critical systems supporting plating operations
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and coordinate equipment upgrades or repairs
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and control costs
  • Monitor production metrics and implement data-driven operational improvements
  • Ensure all products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and industry requirements
  • Support customer audits, certifications, and quality compliance initiatives
  • Oversee safety programs related to hazardous materials handling, storage, and employee training
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop operations staff and technicians
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external contractors Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 5-10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, ideally within plating, metal finishing, or similar industrial environments
  • Direct experience with plating systems, chemical handling, industrial pumps, rectifiers (power supplies), and ventilation systems
  • Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment systems and environmental discharge regulations
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a production environment
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes directly on the floor
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Preferred Skills
  • Experience in electroplating, anodizing, or metal finishing operations
  • Familiarity with automation systems and process controls
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Deep understanding of industrial safety standards and hazardous material protocols. Compensation & Benefits
