Operations Manager SUMMARY:
The Production Manager is responsible for operations, production, safety and policy enforcement for the Plant. The Production Department Supervisors will directly report to the Production Manager. Other responsibilities include production scheduling, ensuring daily reports are being completed accurately and timely, ensure Department Supervisor weekly time sheets are properly filled out and approved. Coordinate production needs with the Maintenance Manager to ensure minimum downtime for PM's and planned maintenance. Administer HACCP and GMP policies. Maintain high standards of excellence, attention to detail and the willingness/flexibility to work through peak work cycles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Overseeing day to day plant operations, identifying problems and developing and implementing corrective and preventative measures. Ensure operations personnel follow the established procedures for start-up, operation, and shutdown of the plant. Follow production reports and troubleshoot any issues during operation. Offers potential solutions and reports any issues to management. Ensure prescribed checks and monitoring of all operating equipment are carried out as required. Establishes and ensures that safety policies and procedures are followed at all times. Work closely with purchasing manager to ensure adequate supplies are available. Interface with customers, suppliers, vendors, senior staff, staff support. Maintain proper records and logs of activities, operating conditions, and down time. Promotes a proactive (vs. reactive) culture Diligently seeks root cause, tracks failures, and drives strategy changes to ultimately prevent future occurrences Prepares production reports, tracks KPIs, develops action plans and ensures completion Responsible for executing production schedules, coordinating resources, (labor, equipment, materials) and managing accurate inventory levels Understand, support, and help implement/maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), HACCP, GMP, Operating Policies and Safety programs Implements production goals, objectives, and ongoing improvement plans and activities Responsible for overall performance of assigned production area Analyzes production data to identify areas for improvement, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs Perform other duties and assignments as directed by Daily's management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Department Supervisors will directly report to the Production Manager under the direction of the Sr. Operations Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training new employees, planning, assigning, directing work and resolving problems.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
Required:
Five (5) or more years related experience in leadership roles. Minimum 3 year of experience in Continuous Improvement environment (Lean manufacturing) Competent in CILT's, RCA, 5 WHY, and Kaizen processes. Experience in food processing, packaging, Quality, Supply Chain, and knowledge of GMP's. Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening). Ability to adjust communication style to multiple audiences, facilitate group coaching, and information sharing. Ability to positively confront and effectively impact noncompliance through effective "soft Skills". Excellent people skills

Preferred Competencies :
A Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree Certified Six Sigma training Project Management Leadership experience Redzone Production system L2L System experience OSHA 10 or 30 hour training
LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret in the English language correspondence, general business reports, professional journals, technical procedures or Government regulations. Ability to write clear, accurate and concise reports and business correspondence. Must be ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Supervisors, regulators, consultants, and the upper management. Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
