Full Job Description Summary:
Manage the daily operations of the Purchasing, Receiving, and Shipping Department to ensure the material and service requirements of the organization are done in a timely, efficient, effective and ethical manner. Provide oversight of all purchases in compliance with TPS procurement policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Process RFQ's, Purchase Orders, etc. needed to maintain the business on a daily basis. Responsible for planning, developing and buying goods or services in a timely and cost effective way, while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications Provide continuous staff development opportunities to ensure staff possesses sufficient training and required skill levels to perform their assigned tasks in a proficient manner; ensure proficiency is maintained in current technologies. Lead negotiation efforts on purchase agreements and vendor contracts to obtain quality, delivery, cost containment, and process improvement. Drive standardization processes and procedures, transaction methods with suppliers, supplier selection processes, and ongoing supplier management. Develop and maintain a systematic, analytical, and results-based method for savings, and monitoring supplier's performance. Control and report budgeting, costing and cost savings to management. Collaborate with Inventory Management team to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory planning for GNb parts. Reporting/Data analytics; team metrics, E & O reports, strategic analysis, etc. Plan for future operations of the department with emphasis on efficiency and effectiveness in meeting the needs of both internal and external customers, statutory and regulatory compliance. Establish strong relationships with 3 party partners.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job manages a department of 2-4 Buyers and 2-4 Material Handlers. They are responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Experience:
B.A. or B.S. Degree preferred with relevant (operations, business) field of study from an accredited university or college. Preferred 10 years relevant materials management & purchasing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Individuals must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills required. Must have ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Individuals must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
Proficient user of Microsoft office, with above average capabilities in Excel and Google Sheets. Strong background using MRP's and their methodologies such as
SAP, AS400, MS
Dynamics, JD Edwards.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
APICS (CPIM, CIRM) certification preferred.
Other Qualifications:
High energy and strong negotiating skills to achieve best price, terms and deliveries. Specific experience in process improvement, knowledge and experience with LEAN/Six Sigma quality improvement techniques preferred. Must be willing to travel as required to meet vendors, trade shows, and our various plants.
