Job Description

A rapidly growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Production Operations Manager to lead a high-volume, continuous production environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, maintenance coordination, production scheduling, safety compliance, quality standards, and team development across multiple production lines and shifts. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives on the production floor, enjoys solving operational challenges, and is passionate about driving efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Key Responsibilities Manage daily operations across multiple production lines and shifts to ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines are achieved Lead and develop Production Supervisors, machine operators, maintenance technicians, and support personnel Monitor operational performance including throughput, downtime, labor utilization, scrap, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) Coordinate with planning, supply chain, warehouse, and purchasing teams to align production schedules and material availability Oversee preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability initiatives to maximize uptime Troubleshoot operational and equipment-related issues while leading root cause analysis and corrective action efforts Ensure compliance with safety regulations, GMP standards, quality procedures, and company policies Support internal audits, documentation accuracy, traceability requirements, and operational reporting Drive continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, waste reduction, cost savings, and process optimization Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices across production teams Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate employees to build a strong and engaged workforce Promote a culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence Qualifications 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in extrusion, plastics, food manufacturing, packaging, or related industrial production environments Proven experience managing production teams within a high-volume manufacturing facility Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, scheduling, equipment maintenance, and process improvement Experience with ERP systems, production tracking software, and maintenance management systems Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational KPIs Ability to analyze production issues and lead effective problem-solving initiatives Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Experience in regulated manufacturing environments highly preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and company holidays Bonus and incentive opportunities This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated manufacturing leader who enjoys developing teams, improving operational performance, and making a direct impact on plant success.
