Job Description
Description:
As a Hull Foreman at Master Boat Builders, you will oversee and coordinate shipyard activities to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.Project Management:
Plan, schedule, and coordinate vessel construction, repair, and maintenance projects. Allocate resources effectively to meet project timelines and budgetary constraints. Monitor progress and ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.Supervision and Leadership:
Lead and supervise a team of shipyard workers, including welders, fabricators, fitters, and painters. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes productivity and quality workmanship.Quality Assurance:
Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the construction and repair process. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and customer requirements. Address any issues or deviations promptly to maintain project integrity and client satisfaction.Resource Management:
Manage inventory of materials, tools, and equipment necessary for shipyard operations. Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of required resources. Optimize resource utilization to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.Safety and Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to promote a culture of safety awareness. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.Communication and Collaboration:
Liaise with project managers, engineers, designers, and clients to discuss project requirements and progress. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues and address concerns. Foster positive relationships with clients and vendors to enhance project outcomes and business relationships.Requirements:
Proven experience (5+ years) in shipyard operations preferred, with a focus on vessel construction, repair, or maintenance. 3-5 years in a leadership and supervisory position, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Excellent project management abilities, including scheduling and resource allocation. In-depth knowledge of maritime industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
