Job Description
Weld Supervisor-1st Shift Central Tube & Bar is seeking an experienced and motivated Weld Supervisor to lead our 1st Shift welding operations. The Weld Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring quality standards are met, maintaining a safe work environment, and leading a team to achieve production goals. This role requires strong leadership skills, welding knowledge, experience utilizing Epicor ERP , and a commitment to maintaining accurate inventory records to support efficient production operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of welding department employees on 1st Shift.
Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and production output to maximize efficiency.
Train, coach, and develop welding team members.
Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to improve processes and productivity.
Monitor and maintain welding equipment and coordinate maintenance needs.
Review work orders and production schedules to ensure timely completion of customer orders.
Utilize Epicor ERP to manage production orders, review scheduling information, track labor and production data, and maintain accurate reporting.
Maintain department records, productivity metrics, and performance reports.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and throughput.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of welding and fabrication experience.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Strong understanding of welding processes, fabrication techniques, blueprints, and quality standards.
Experience managing production schedules and employee performance.
Working knowledge of safety regulations and manufacturing best practices.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Required Experience
Experience using Epicor ERP in a manufacturing environment.
Experience tracking production, inventory, labor reporting, work orders, and scheduling through Epicor.
Ability to analyze production data and make informed operational decisions. Preferred Qualifications
Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
Experience in metal fabrication, tube processing, or manufacturing environment.
Welding certifications are a plus. Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment.
