Air Duct Fabricator / Sheet Metal Mechanic -
Commercial HVAC Construction Job Type:

In Person We are seeking an experienced Air Duct Fabricator / Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our growing commercial HVAC construction team. This position involves fabricating, assembling, and installing commercial HVAC ductwork and sheet metal components for new construction projects. Candidates must have prior hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication and installation and be comfortable performing physically demanding work in commercial construction environments. Required Experience Minimum 2 years of commercial sheet metal fabrication and HVAC duct installation experience. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and mechanical plans. Proficiency operating sheet metal fabrication equipment and tools. Knowledge of commercial ductwork construction methods and installation practices. Job Responsibilities Fabricate rectangular, round, spiral, and custom HVAC ductwork for commercial construction projects. Measure, cut, bend, assemble, and install galvanized steel, aluminum, and other sheet metal products. Operate fabrication equipment including brakes, shears, rollers, notchers, Pittsburgh machines, and plasma cutting tables. Build and install duct fittings, transitions, offsets, elbows, curbs, and specialty sheet metal components. Read and interpret construction drawings, duct layouts, and project specifications. Ensure all fabricated and installed products meet quality standards, project requirements, and SMACNA guidelines. Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and field crews to maintain production schedules and project deadlines. Load, unload, transport, and stage ductwork and materials as needed. Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe, organized work area. Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Physical Requirements & Work Environment This is a physically demanding position that requires working in active commercial construction environments. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull 50+ pounds regularly. Must be able to work on ladders, lifts, scaffolding, rooftops, and elevated surfaces. Must be comfortable working in confined spaces, overhead, kneeling, crouching, bending, and other awkward positions throughout the workday. Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and humidity. Work is performed in environments that are not climate-controlled; there is no air conditioning on construction sites. Must be able to stand, walk, climb, and perform physical labor for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications Commercial HVAC construction experience. Familiarity with duct construction requirements. Welding, fabrication, or specialty metalworking experience. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Schedule Full-Time Monday-Friday Overtime available based on project workload

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
