Under general direction from the Quality Manager, the Quality Process Owner will supervise and be responsible for the safe and efficient performance of all activities within their assigned departments (NDT, Part Mark, Final Product Certification, and Shipping). This includes 1st line supervision of operators, adherence to, and improvement of area department procedures and product tech cards. JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Drive and implement lean manufacturing and 6S initiatives. Maintain operator schedules, attendance, training, and performance records. Facilitate meetings and discussions with area operators, Quality Manager, and Human Resources to address performance, attendance, and other disciplinary issues. Ensure process Key Process Indicators (KPI's), are measured, and recorded per area department procedures. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Team to decrease area Flow Time and Cycle Time through continuous improvement efforts. Ensure product quality by monitoring departmental training and adhering to standard training protocols within area of responsibility. Review, Modify, and Improve area Department Procedures and Part Specific Tech cards to ensure content is clear, accurate and operators can perform specified tasks safely and repeatably. Maintain inventory and communicate purchase requests/needs of all area bill of material items and consumables. Ensure all necessary bills of material and consumable items are available in sufficient form and quantity to maintain production schedule and are stored neatly in their designated areas. Troubleshoot paperwork and other system issues (booking jobs, clocking in/out) with operators, management staff, and System/ERP analyst. Proactively respond to non-conformances, corrective actions, and quality issues concerning areas supervised. Works collaboratively with employees, engineering, and management in suggesting and/or implementing new manufacturing practices, procedures, workspace layouts, equipment setups, and cost reduction. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of experience as a supervisor, lead operator, trainer, or similar (Note a 4-yr collegiate degree is equivalent), in a manufacturing environment. Has demonstrated experience with manufacturing processes that require attention to detail and process control. Have computer skills with the ability to complete basic Excel Spreadsheets/Charts, Word Documentation, PowerPoint slides, Outlook email, and ERP/MRP systems. Maintains excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proven experience using lean manufacturing tools and principles a plus. Can liaise between engineering, manufacturing, management, quality, and all parts of the business to effect timely and efficient improvements and goal achievement. Leads by example and coaches, mentors, and demonstrates a concrete desire to maintain focus on completion of production requirements. Investment Casting experience with knowledge of NDT processes is preferred but not required. APPLICABLE MANUFACTURING COMPETENCIES
