We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily machining operations and support a skilled team in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. Position Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations within a high-precision machine shop. This role provides hands-on leadership to machinists and operators, ensures production schedules are met, and drives quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across CNC machining operations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of CNC mills and lathes, proven leadership experience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and team development.
Key Responsibilities Lead & Supervise:
Manage, coach, and support machinists and operators across varying skill levels.
Production Execution:
Ensure schedules, delivery commitments, and throughput targets are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Machining Oversight:
Oversee CNC mill and lathe operations, setups, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization.
Quality & Compliance:
Enforce ITAR, AS9100, ISO, and internal quality requirements across all shop activities.
Training & Development:
Provide hands-on training and mentorship to build technical capability and bench strength.
Scheduling & Planning:
Coordinate labor, machines, and priorities to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Technical Review:
Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and inspection results; partner with Quality to resolve issues.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive improvements in productivity, cost, workflow, and process discipline.
Administrative & Reporting:
Use basic office tools and ERP/MRP systems to support reporting, scheduling, and communication. Qualifications 10+ years experience in a high-precision machining environment (CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment). Proven experience leading machinists and operators in a production setting. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, inspection methods, and machining best practices . Familiarity with ITAR regulations and aerospace quality systems (AS9100, ISO 9001). Experience with scheduling, production planning, and resource allocation. Demonstrated ability to train, develop, and motivate teams. High integrity, strong judgment, and a commitment to operational excellence. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP/MRP experience is a plus. ITAR Requirement This position requires access to information and technology subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) . Applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR.
