About the Role Midstate Mechanical is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our growing Commercial HVAC team. This position is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance of sheet metal systems in commercial and industrial environments. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a solid understanding of HVAC systems, and the ability to work both independently and within a team to deliver high-quality results. Takes approximately 7 minutes to complete Please use the link below and select Sheet Metal Journeyman when prompted: https://go.cultureindex.com/s/COSzCJpKvh Key Responsibilities Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and HVAC components according to project specifications Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project documents Perform layout of HVAC mechanical systems Operate tools and equipment including shears, brakes, welders, and other fabrication equipment Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA and Midstate safety standards Collaborate with Foremen, Project Managers, and other trades to ensure project timelines are met Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Document work performed and track materials used Assist with training and mentoring apprentices and junior mechanics Performance & Qualification Requirements Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Journeyman or Mechanic in commercial HVAC construction Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fabrication, installation, and repair Ability to read and interpret contract documents, blueprints, submittals, and shop drawings Basic understanding of HVAC system operations Working knowledge of SMACNA standards for duct and system installations Ability to perform layout and installation with limited supervision Experience with welding and sheet metal fabrication tools and equipment Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a team environment Certifications & Requirements City of Phoenix Journeyman License (Required) OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification (Required) Certifications to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, or similar equipment Must possess all tools required to perform job duties Valid Driver's License with an insurable driving record (Required)
