Job Title:
CNC Supervisor Job Description The CNC Supervisor oversees and actively participates in CNC operations, programming, and production scheduling within a high-end job shop environment. This role ensures that CNC machining activities run efficiently, meet quality standards, and support demanding projects such as medical device full builds and government contracts. Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day CNC shop operations in a high-end job shop environment, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Lead and coordinate CNC machining activities, including setup, operation, and optimization of CNC equipment. Plan and manage production schedules for CNC work centers to meet delivery deadlines and customer requirements. Participate directly in CNC programming, using tools such as GibbsCAM to create, modify, and optimize programs. Oversee fabrication processes related to CNC machining, ensuring parts meet specifications and quality standards. Monitor machine performance and workflow across multiple CNC machines, including multi-axis and horizontal equipment, to maximize utilization and minimize downtime. Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues, troubleshoot machining problems, and improve processes. Ensure compliance with internal procedures and industry standards, particularly for medical device and government contract work. Provide guidance, training, and support to CNC operators and shop personnel to maintain a skilled and efficient team. Review work orders, drawings, and specifications to confirm that CNC programs and setups align with project requirements. Essential Skills Proven experience supervising CNC operations in a job shop or similar machining environment. Hands-on expertise with CNC machining processes, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting. Strong CNC programming skills, including experience with GibbsCAM or similar CAM software. Solid understanding of fabrication processes related to CNC machining. Ability to plan and manage production scheduling in a multi-machine CNC environment. Familiarity with multi-axis CNC machines, including 2-5 axis equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Strong organizational and leadership skills to effectively supervise shop activities. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a high-end job shop environment with complex and varied projects. Background in machining components for medical device full builds and government contracts. Experience with DMG CNC machines, horizontal machining centers, vertical turning lathes (VTL), and pallet-changing systems. Process improvement mindset with the ability to enhance efficiency and throughput in a CNC shop. Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments. Why Work Here? The facility operates advanced CNC machines, including 2-5 axis equipment, DMG machines, four horizontal machining centers, five vertical turning lathes (VTL), and high-end pallet-changing systems. You will work around modern CNC technology in a well-maintained, organized shop designed to support precision machining and consistent quality. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Brea, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
