Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the maintenance, repair, and daily operation of manufacturing equipment and processes to support operational efficiency and minimize downtime. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role supervises a team of technicians and collaborates with production, engineering, and quality departments to execute preventative maintenance programs, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses solid technical knowledge, hands-on leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Execute production activities to meet production schedules, quality requirements, and cost objectives. Coordinate daily production schedules based on priorities established by management, considering material supply and build efficiency. Support projects and process improvement initiatives within the production group to improve processes and efficiencies, and reduce cycle times, utilizing techniques such as 5S and lean manufacturing. Identify training needs and coordinate training activities to develop staff capabilities. Ensure compliance with FDA, GMP/QSR, and
ISO 9001
standards in daily operations. Support Operations management in achieving tactical objectives and meeting internal and external customer needs. Coach and develop employees' skill sets while fostering a team environment and maintaining accountability. Support material movement and handling processes to ensure compliance and maintain inventory accuracies. Provide input on departmental budgets and make recommendations on equipment needs and staffing requirements. Other duties as needed or required.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related STEM field Minimum of 5 years of production/technical experience in the medical device or other regulated industries, including at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory capacity. Experience leading Lean Six Sigma initiatives, including familiarity with TQM, 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles, and conducting Gemba walks. Detail-oriented with the ability to understand processes and their impact on operations. Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP required), material movement, and material flow. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
