Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, 401(k) with 4% match Purpose and Scope The Molding Manager assumes full responsibility for shift activities, personnel, and equipment in the Molding Department. This role plans, develops, and implements manufacturing processes to optimize production output, maintain quality standards, and control costs.

Core Responsibilities Operations:

Manage shift personnel, schedule staffing, and coordinate equipment utilization.

Quality:

Optimize manufacturing processes to meet ISO/AS9100 and company standards.

Safety:

Enforce workplace safety policies, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement:

Deploy Lean principles and utilize DOEs to enhance production efficiency.

Leadership:

Foster teamwork, handle employee relations, and resolve technical or floor issues.

Reporting:

Track shift handovers, production output, scrap rates, and machine downtime in IQ.

Performance Accountabilities Efficiency:

Maintain a minimum of 99% cycle efficiency per IQ tracking reports.

Quality Control:

Keep the product reject rate below 2% daily.

Housekeeping:

Ensure the manufacturing floor meets audit readiness through daily inspections.

Handovers:

Verify shift transitions leave the floor in equal or better condition.

Maintenance:

Ensure all equipment malfunctions are documented and submitted immediately.

Job Requirements, Technical Skills & Experience Experience:

Minimum 5 years in injection molding and troubleshooting.

Leadership:

Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience, preferably in plastics.

Molding Knowledge:

Deep familiarity with diverse resins, tooling set-ups, and auxiliary equipment.

Quality Tools:

Proficient with calipers, micrometers, blocks, and gages.

Blueprints:

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.

Software:

Proficient with ERP/production tracking software (IQ) and personal computers.

Communication & Languages English:

Fluent oral, reading, and written communication required.

Spanish:

Bi-lingual skills are highly preferred.

Presentation:

Ability to present data clearly to management, staff, and customers.

Physical Demands Mobility:

Ability to stand, walk, or sit for up to 6 hours per day in a factory environment.

Lifting:

Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 55 pounds.

Computer:
