This leadership role involves managing production teams, ensuring quality standards, maintaining safety protocols, and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced industrial environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of metal processing operations, proven supervisory experience, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and plays a key role in achieving production targets while maintaining the highest standards of workplace safety and employee development. OPERATIONS & LEADERSHIP
Supervise day-to-day plant operations, including production, warehouse, and equipment activities Coordinate workflow across departments, including scheduling and manpower planning Monitor and improve team performance, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures Troubleshoot operational challenges and serve as point of contact for decision-making during shifts Collaborate with internal teams to meet customer needs and maintain service excellence TEAM DEVELOPMENT
Train, coach, and develop foremen and plant employees Set expectations and provide ongoing feedback related to safety, quality, and productivity Support adherence to company policies and collective bargaining agreements SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
Lead daily pre-shift safety meetings and communicate hazards and expectations Ensure equipment inspections are completed and issues are resolved promptly Identify and correct unsafe conditions, including stopping work when necessary Maintain an active presence on the production floor to reinforce safe work practices Promote a proactive safety culture, including reporting and resolving near-miss incidents OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
Drive improvements in productivity, cost control, service quality, and inventory management Support preventive maintenance efforts across plant equipment and facilities Monitor inventory and perform cycle counts as needed Ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and company policies Qualifications & Requirements Experience & Education High school diploma or GED required Associate degree in Business or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) 4+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or warehousing (steel industry preferred) Skills & Abilities Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities Solid organizational and time management skills with attention to detail Knowledge of manufacturing operations, inventory control, and safety practices Ability to understand and apply HR policies, employment law basics, and union agreements Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems Additional Requirements Valid driver's license required Ability to pass background check and pre hire drug screen Ability to work flexible hours, including day or swing shifts and occasional travel Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work performed in a plant environment with exposure to noise, steel dust, and varying temperatures Frequent walking, standing, and climbing; occasional lifting up to 40 lbs Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats and safety glasses Apply Today If you're a motivated leader with a passion for operations, safety, and team development, we'd love to hear from you.
