Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Experienced Grading Foreman. Minimum five years of experience. Mostly regional / local work within 50 miles of Lincoln, CA. Generally Monday - Friday. $45 - $60 hourly wage based on experience. The Foreman is responsible for directing daily field operations and coordinating crew activities to ensure assigned work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and schedule requirements. This position plays a critical role in managing site productivity, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring all labor, equipment, and materials are utilized effectively to meet project objectives. The Foreman reports to the Superintendent and supervises Leadmen, Operators, Laborers and Drivers.COMPANY INFORMATION

Key Responsibilities Leads and facilitates weekly safety tailgate meetings with field personnel. Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and company policies Assign and oversee daily tasks for field personnel Coordinate manpower, equipment, and material needs Monitor work progress against schedule and scope requirements Identify and resolve field challenges impacting production Maintain communication with Project Management and onsite stakeholders Utilize HCSS HeavyJob to document daily time reporting of labor and equipment, production rates, and material deliveries to ensure accurate job costing and reporting Quality & Production Confirm work is performed in accordance with project plans and technical requirements Maintain workmanship standards for all construction activities Conduct routine job site inspections to verify compliance with specifications Monitor installation tolerances, grade, alignment, or placement as applicable Support productivity by proactively identifying inefficiencies or constraints Ensure equipment and tools are properly maintained and utilized Planning and Operations Participate in pre-task planning and daily work coordination Assist in developing work sequences and construction approaches Schedule crew assignments based on production needs Maintain daily reports including labor, equipment, materials, and site conditions Ensure job site readiness, including layout information and necessary resources Conduct daily safety and hazard assessments Schedule and conduct all necessary inspections as required Leadership & Workforce Development Promote safe work practices through active leadership Lead daily crew meetings to communicate expectations and project goals Mentor and support field personnel to promote skill growth and ongoing professional development. Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment Client & Vendor Relations Interface with subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers onsite Coordinate deliveries and subcontracted work activities Represent the company professionally in all field interactions Communicate project needs and resolve operational conflicts as required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 5-7 years of progressive field experience in civil construction Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and layout information Working knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and safety practices Basic math skills, including quantity, volume, and measurement calculations Effective verbal and written communication skills Valid driver's license with acceptable driving recordPreferred Certifications:

Physical Demands This position may regularly require the employee to: Stand and walk for extended periods of time Work outdoors in varying weather conditions Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Reach with hands and arms Use hands to handle tools, equipment, and controls Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally Lift more than 50 pounds with assistance as needed Work around heavy equipment and moving machinery Be exposed to noise, dust, vibration, and uneven terrain commonly found on construction sites Work Environment Work may be performed in both office and field environments. Field work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, uneven terrain, loud noise levels, and outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required based on job site conditions.Job Type:
