About the
Role:
The Bistro Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Bistro within a food service establishment. This position is responsible for overseeing daily activities, maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene, and managing Bistro staff to deliver exceptional culinary experiences. The Bistro Supervisor acts as a bridge between the bistro staff and management, ensuring that all operational goals and customer expectations are met consistently. They are also tasked with inventory management, scheduling, and training to optimize productivity and minimize waste. Ultimately, the Bistro Supervisor ensures that the bistro operates seamlessly, contributing to the overall success and reputation of the establishment.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience working in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in a supervisory role. Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen sanitation standards. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in food safety. Experience with inventory management and cost control in bistro setting. Familiarity with kitchen equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience in a high-volume or fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of bistro staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service. Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards in compliance with regulatory requirements. Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage stock to reduce waste and control costs. Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance to foster a productive and motivated team environment. Collaborate with management to plan menus, implement new recipes, and improve bistro processes. Ensure timely and accurate food preparation to meet customer demand and quality expectations. Address and resolve any operational issues or customer concerns related to bistro service promptly. Other duties as needed
Skills:
The Bistro Supervisor utilizes leadership and organizational skills daily to manage staff effectively and ensure smooth operations. Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is applied to maintain compliance and uphold health standards. Communication skills are essential for coordinating between team members and management, as well as for training and mentoring staff. Problem-solving abilities are frequently used to address operational challenges and customer concerns promptly. Additionally, skills in inventory management and cost control help optimize resources and maintain budgetary goals. Wednesday - Sunday 40 hours
