POSITION SUMMARY
The position reports to the Plant Manager and has the responsibility for all operational related functions within the facility. This position adheres to all established plant Food Safety programs and enforces plant policies. Through proactive cooperation with other groups on site and other facilities to ensure that their area and people are fully aligned with the organization. Focusing on results to deliver success as measured by key performance metrics.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Understanding of unit operations, process capabilities, quality, regulatory affairs, planning and food safety. Ensure the timely deployment of People development plan and assure the competencies of his/her team as per the agreed plan with Plant Mgr. (proper training inclusive of equipment, safety procedures, and hygiene). Ensure a safe work environment is always maintained. Updated work instructions available for all positions. Processes are run in accordance with SOP's, SSOP's and other documentation. Review all new product formulations, process techniques and packaging to ensure compliance to existing regulatory guidelines. Ensure quality objectives are met including regular adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), performance of sanitation audits, food safety checks, and product quality checks conducted according to policies. Ensure the development and implementation of action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives. Facilitate seamless handoffs and communicate key information to peers, team members and Production Management Ensure that there is an adequate distribution of skills to enable production plan to be achieved effectively.
REQUIREMENTS / MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Business Management, Food Science, or Organizational Leadership/ Supervision) preferred but not a must. Work extended days and/or weekends with flexibility to switch shifts as required. Bilingual English / Spanish is a must. 5 or more years in food manufacturing with production floor experience required. Experience knowledge of FDA, USDA, GMP's, FSMA and HACCP applicable to the facility. Experience in food processing, packaging, Quality, Supply Chain, and knowledge of GMP's. Minimum 1 year of experience in Continuous Improvement environment (Lean manufacturing or TPM preferred)
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Ability to maintain a safe working environment through proper housekeeping and safety practices. Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening). Ability to adjust communication style to multiple audiences, facilitate group coaching, and information sharing. Proven ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop direct reports. Has the ability to build effective relationships at all levels. Treats all people with respect. Possesses the ability to work through people by setting objectives, assessing performance, providing candid feedback and holding people accountable. Must be positive hands on results-oriented leader. PC Skill's MS Outlook, Excel, and Word, ability to learn time and attendance.
DIRECTIONS
Works under moderate supervision. Expected to handle most questions and issues independently, referring only the most unusual or difficult to the supervisor.
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
