They are responsible for managing daily field operations, interpreting blueprints, directing crane operations, and ensuring the project is completed on schedule and within quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Crew Leadership:
Direct and supervise ironworker and erection crews, train workers on structural methods, and conduct daily toolbox/safety meetings.
Blueprint & Plan Reading:
Review and interpret complex structural drawings, erection plans, and specifications with the field team.
Site Logistics & Coordination:
Coordinate material handling, equipment usage, and crane sequencing to ensure the continuous flow of work.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce stringent jobsite safety standards (e.g., OSHA, AISC compliance), oversee fall protection measures, and ensure proper PPE usage.
Quality Assurance:
Verify plumbness, alignment, and proper bolted or welded connections of structural members.
Essential Qualifications Experience:
Minimum 3 to 5+ years of hands-on structural steel erection experience, including proven leadership as a lead ironworker or foreman.
Certifications:
OSHA 30 certification is highly preferred. Certifications in rigging, crane signaling, or welding are distinct assets.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of rigging capacities, crane coordination, welding processes, and structural tolerances.
Physical & Environmental:
Ability to work at significant heights, lift heavy materials, and navigate rigorous outdoor/industrial environments.
Pay:
$20.00 - $33.00 per hour
