About Us We are a creative, high-output fabrication shop specializing in custom scenic builds, installations, and experiential environments. With a reputation for quality craftsmanship and reliable execution, we partner with production companies, agencies, and designers to bring ambitious concepts to life. From concept to completion, our team thrives on creative problem-solving and technical precision with a collaborative spirit. Role Overview We're looking for a working Shop Foreman to lead our fabrication department. This is a full-time, in-person role based in the South Los Angeles area. As Shop Foreman, you'll oversee daily shop operations, manage a team of 30-40 skilled fabricators across 5-10 concurrent projects, and ensure that all work is executed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Foreman will work alongside the Production Manager, the Director of Fabrication and Scenic Foreman to implement efficient and effective build techniques, using or recommending the most appropriate materials for each deliverable while staying within the project budget. Importantly, the Foreman will also work closely with Project Managers, Designers, and Leadership to coordinate builds, delegate tasks and drive continuous improvement across the shop floor. Key Responsibilities Lead, train, and supervise the fabrication team (Carpentry, Metal, CNC, and Electrical teams) Create and manage shop schedules to ensure daily and weekly goals are met - from a timeline, quality, and budget perspectives. Manage labor assignments, equipment use, and maintenance (in collaboration with the production manager) Monitor and maintain all shop tools, equipment, and inventory (in collaboration with the production manager) Uphold and enforce all safety protocols and best practices Coordinate with Project Managers and the Director of Fabrication to align project needs with available resources Maintain quality control throughout fabrication and finishing processes Manage time sheets, labor tracking, and receipts for expense reporting Proactively identify workflow bottlenecks and recommend process improvements Provide hands-on support in carpentry and fabrication as needed What We're Looking For 10+ years of hands-on carpentry/fabrication experience, ideally in scenic or event production 5+ years of leadership or shop management experience Strong communication and team leadership skills Experience scaling and developing a fabrication team Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Proven ability to build and manage a team of 30-40 carpenters, installers, welders, and electricians Proficiency in reading and executing detailed shop drawings Experience in the experiential design, event production, or scenic construction industry Strong project management skills, including budgeting and timeline management Proficiency in fabrication techniques for builds up to 20,000 sq/ft Familiarity with fire-rating standards, engineering specifications, and technical drawings Solid understanding of OSHA safety standards and large-scale build safety Comfortable with physical labor and working extended hours or weekends as needed Experience with installation and on-site load-ins Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Chat, Sheets, Calendar) Schedule & Compensation Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (flexible start/end times based on workload) Occasional evening/weekend shifts and travel required
Pay Range:
$120,000 anticipated base (Hourly or Salary DOE)

$120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
