They are looking for an experienced CNC milling machinist who can lead the milling department, work with machinists on the floor, solve setup and machining issues, and ensure parts are produced correctly, efficiently, and on time. This role will oversee the production milling department where machinists set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills and multi-axis machining centers used to manufacture precision aerospace components. Pay:

$80k-$100k/annually

Schedule:

6 am-3:30 pm; Monday-Friday with occasional overtime on Saturdays Job Duties of the

CNC Mill Supervisor:

Lead approximately 5 machinists within the day shift milling department Review the master production schedule created by manufacturing management and assign machinists to machines and operations based on the priority of work orders Prioritize jobs, balance workloads, manage setups and changeovers, and ensure the right work is being run at the right time to meet production schedules Ensure machinists have the tooling, fixtures, setup information, travelers, manufacturing drawings, customer documentation, and technical direction needed to complete setups and run production jobs Serve as the technical leader and technical escalation point for the milling department Work with machinists on the production floor to resolve setup issues, tooling issues, fixture issues, machining issues, and quality concerns Perform machine setups and operate CNC equipment when production demands require additional floor coverage Approve machine setups and help ensure parts are machined correctly the first time Work closely with Quality during first article inspections, in-process inspections, corrective actions, and production quality issues Evaluate machining and quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions when needed Provide hands-on training, cross-training, mentorship, and technical guidance to machinists on the floor Monitor department performance through OTD, machine utilization, scrap, throughput, and efficiency metrics Improve setup efficiency, reduce production delays, improve machine utilization, and improve the department's performance in throughput and efficiency Ensure machinists follow manufacturing procedures, work instructions, quality requirements, and SOPs Work closely with the Manufacturing Manager, Quality Department, and Lathe Department to achieve production goals and continuous improvement initiatives Handle employee management responsibilities including scheduling, performance reviews, corrective actions, hiring interviews, and employee development Benefits of the

CNC Mill Supervisor:

Have 8+ years of CNC mill machining experience within aerospace, defense, or medical manufacturing environments Have 2-5 years of lead or supervisory experience within a CNC machining environment Experience setting up and operating 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills and multi-axis machining centers Experience with DMG Mori CNC equipment is require Experience editing CNC programs on the shop floor Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge Experience working with titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other precision machined materials Experience with first article inspections and troubleshooting machining issues in a precision manufacturing environment Ability to lead machinists, prioritize production, and manage department workflow
