Full Job Description Overview:
About the
Role:
Provide leadership and supervision for Machine Shop and prioritize activities required to meet production, quality, and safety objectives. Will oversee and machine complex prototype tooling components with CNC and manual machines as well as with imported CAD models to develop programs for lathe, vertical, and multi-axis CNC machining centers. Will work with ultra-close tolerances in a fast-paced in-house shop environment. Works closely with Manufacturing Operations and Engineering, and interfaces with cross-functional technical groups such as R D, Mfg. Eng., and Quality across all sites.
Responsibilities:
What You'll Do:
Provide leadership and supervision to the Machine Shop, prioritizing activities and allocating resources to meet production deliverables while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and overall performance. Remain actively engaged in CNC operations to ensure machines run efficiently and productively, identifying opportunities to improve performance and consistency. Partner with management and cross-functional teams to understand evolving needs and challenges, aligning team objectives to support broader organizational goals and drive cohesive execution. Take ownership of product quality and productivity by leading, coaching, and developing team members, reinforcing strong workmanship, accountability, and consistent delivery of high-quality results. Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams across sites to develop machining, tooling, and fixture solutions that meet demanding specifications, timelines, and performance expectations. Manage external suppliers and machine shops as needed, ensuring alignment on requirements, responsiveness, and the consistent delivery of quality components. Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and multi-axis machining centers, as well as manual equipment, applying technical expertise and sound judgment to troubleshoot issues and maintain operational continuity. Oversee CNC and manual machining centers, supporting equipment, and personnel to ensure on-time delivery and sustained quality performance. Manage tooling inventory and replenishment to support uninterrupted production. Interpret technical documentation—including blueprints, 3D CAD models (SolidWorks/Solid Edge), and process specifications—with precision, translating requirements into accurate and reliable machining outcomes. Strengthen and expand the Machine Shop's reputation as a responsive, solutions-oriented function by consistently delivering dependable results and supporting internal and external customer needs. Design and implement tooling and fixtures that enhance manufacturing efficiency, repeatability, and overall process capability. Apply strong blueprint interpretation skills, including GD&T, and utilize inspection tools to verify accuracy and ensure conformance to requirements. Maintain a clean, organized work environment and ensure proper servicing and repair of equipment to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations. Communicate effectively with customers, leadership, and team members, providing clear updates and generating status reports to maintain alignment and visibility. Provide training in machining methods, procedures, and best practices, strengthening team capability and promoting consistent execution. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to team and organizational success.
Qualifications:
What You'll Bring:
Education:
School Diploma, or equivalent experience required AA and/or Machining Certificate preferred
Experience:
Mastercam and/or Machining "certifications" earned 10+ years CNC and manual machining experience 5 to 10 years' experience using Mastercam up to Version 10 Experience as machine shop supervisor, foreman or other lead role in machine shop environment
Skills/Competencies:
Equipment Use:
All CNC and manual equipment. Copy machines, fax machines, calculators and personal computers and computer terminals.
Computer Skills:
CAD software and CAM software. Software proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, legal documents, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

The compensation package includes:
