It is a leading producer of organic apple juice, apple sauce and apple cider vinegar. Manzana is owned by Agrial, a leading French co-op of 12,000 farmer members and a force in agriculture and food production. Job Summary:
We are currently hiring a 2nd shift Production Supervisor to join our team in Sebastopol, CA. The Production Supervisor manages the production staff to maintain the highest possible yield, efficiency, and quality compliance in all phases of production. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, organizing staff, and tracking work centers for 2nd shift production teams, and works alongside other department supervisors to achieve daily goals & targets. Provides oversight & support to all production activities including production lines and press & vinegar production. Acts as "Person in Charge" (PIC) during non-business hours for safety & security. On-site presence Monday - Friday, and some Saturdays, as required. Because this is a production environment, the daily shift could be 8-10 hours per day, depending on production needs. Strong leadership which fosters a culture of Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement is expected, with excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Safety & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to company policies for Food Legality, Safety, Quality, and Defense, emphasizing each team member's role in delivering safe, high-quality food. Work closely with QA department to ensure compliance at all points of production.
Production Management:
Schedules and organizes staffing, optimizing production efficiency and meeting deadlines, while conforming to Union Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) requirements. Manage and schedule tasks including work center assignment in UKG, aligning operations with daily production schedule, creating & posting employee labor schedule, and work order preparation, and approving employee timecards. Collaborate with other department supervisors on tasks such as scheduling, line coverage, employee discipline. Keeps department & team accountable to Manzana policies and procedures and aligned with CBA policies and expectations. Monitor operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful production runs from material availability through finished goods. Ensure Best Practices are followed and maintained in all activities performed throughout the department. Work with the Production Planning to ensure adequate staffing and organization for fulfilling orders according to schedule. Ensure strict adherence to sanitation standards and oversee equipment care and maintenance for operational standards. Collaborate on departmental budgets, including labor and variable costs. Participate in and influence processes and solution improvements with Management. Works in partnership with Production Method & CI Engineer on continuous improvement tasks as assigned. Ensure smooth daily hand-off and communication to 1st Shift Supervisors. Identifies need to escalate issues to Manager or Human Resources.
Personnel Leadership:
Supervise all production staff, handling recruitment, performance, and disciplinary actions across all production teams. Supervise and develop the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Works closely with Line Leads to develop & mentor continued success. Direct 2nd shift line completion & clearance activities for hand-off to sanitation team.
Inventory Management:
Track and report inventory levels and production metrics accurately, using NAV. Maintain Production supplies inventory and initiate orders to Manager or purchasing.
Equipment Maintenance:
Oversee regular maintenance and coordinate repairs for smooth operations.
Recordkeeping:
Maintain all production records to be up to date and available for audit. Update SOP's as required by process improvements. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Review existing SOP's for process updates and accuracy & creates new for deficiencies. Maintain onsite presence to hand off PIC ownership to next arriving supervisor to preserve 24-hour site supervision continuity. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school education or equivalent. Bi-Lingual English / Spanish Minimum three years' experience in a manufacturing lead role, or in a comparable food production company. Experience working in food production required. Experience supervising and motivating staff in a similar capacity. Excellent administrative and organizational skills, with ability to develop strong daily routines and task lists.

Strong knowledge of production processes and equipment including knowledge of: Bottling lines Food packaging lines manufacturing & packaging machines and equipment health and safety standards and compliance
HACCP, FDA, SQF
principals & practices Experience managing people & human resource standards and expectations. Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities. ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Redzone Analytics. Food defense program, GMP facility requirements, PPE requirements.
Abilities:
Ability to organize, track and manage a variety of concurrent activities and projects. Perform under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interface and engage successfully at all levels in a multi-cultural environment. Exceptional labor organization and time management abilities. Possess or obtain HACCP certification. Desire to continually improve culture, keeping our Company Mission & Vision at the heart of your actions.
